Welcome to Silk & Sunsets
There is a particular kind of success we’re taught to chase. More revenue, more clients, more growth, more responsibility, more hours.
And somewhere along the way, “building a successful business” can become synonymous with being busy, being needed and constantly having something else to do.
But what if that isn't the point?
What if the real measure of a successful business isn't simply how much it makes, but what it makes possible in your life?
The slow Tuesday morning you get to spend with your kids.
The afternoon you take off because the sun is shining.
The freedom to travel without your business falling apart in your absence.
The space to create something new because you actually have the capacity to think.
The ability to choose how you spend your days, rather than constantly reacting to what your business demands from you.
This is the conversation behind Silk & Sunsets.
Business should support your life, not consume it
We believe your business can be so much more than a vehicle for making money.
It can be a vehicle for choice - choice over your time, choice over your energy, choice over the people you work with, choice over what you create, choice over what success actually looks like for you.
There is a big difference between owning a business and having a business that genuinely supports the life you want to live.
You can have the revenue, the clients and the impressive-looking business and still feel like you're constantly running on empty.
You can wake up already thinking about the things that need fixing.
You can spend your days answering emails, solving problems, chasing leads, managing people and putting out fires, only to realise that the business you created for freedom has somehow become the thing taking your freedom away.
And when you're operating from that place for long enough, it becomes difficult to know what you actually want anymore.
You're simply trying to keep everything moving.
…..and then there are the ideas you can't quite let go of.
Maybe you don't own a business yet.
Maybe you're sitting at your desk working for someone else, doing a job you're perfectly capable of doing but always wondering “Is this really it?”
Perhaps there's an idea you've had for years.
A business you keep imagining, a creative pursuit you've never given yourself permission to explore, a skill you know you could turn into something more, or maybe it’s a little voice that keeps asking what would happen if you actually tried.
But at the same time, those internal questions and doubt come in too - could I really make this work? Would anyone pay for it? What if I leave a secure job and regret it or fail? Where would I even start?
So the idea stays an idea and you carry on as is.
At Silk & Sunsets, we believe those ideas are worth listening to.
Not every idea needs to become a business. But sometimes the thing you've been thinking about for years is trying to show you something about the life you actually want.
Your business doesn't, and shouldn’t, have to look like everyone else's
First and foremost, it’s important that you know that there is no single blueprint for a successful business, no required number of employees, no mandatory six-figure launch.
There is no rule that says you need to work from 6am until 9pm to prove you're serious, and there are certainly no rules that say more is always better.
In our opinion.
Your version of success might be a seven-figure company.
It might be a small, beautifully considered business that gives you extraordinary freedom, or working four days a week and having the flexibility to travel when you want.
It might be creating enough income to leave a job you no longer love.
From surviving your business to thriving in it
Silk & Sunsets exists for the space between where you are and where you know you could be.
We bring together business strategy, development, intuition and a deep understanding of the person behind the business.
Because sometimes you don't need another strategy or online course.
You need clarity.
You need to understand why what you're doing isn't working for you anymore, and you need to trust what you already know.
And understanding that sometimes the business itself isn't the problem. It's the way you've been taught to think about business that needs to change.
Our work is about creating businesses and careers that allow you to thrive, not simply survive.
Businesses that work with who you are rather than asking you to constantly work against yourself.
Businesses that create revenue without requiring you to sacrifice every other part of your life.
Businesses that give you room to breathe, think, create and choose.
A more chosen life
We use the word chosen intentionally.
Because there is a difference between living the life that has happened to you and consciously creating one that feels like yours.
You are allowed to question the model and you are allowed to want something different, by building a business around your life rather than squeezing your life around your business.
And you are allowed to redefine what success means to you.
That is what Silk & Sunsets is here for.
To help you find the clarity, strategy and confidence to create a business or career that supports the life you actually want to live.
Not the life you're supposed to want or the business you're supposed to build.
Yours.
Because ultimately, the goal isn't simply to build a successful business.
It's to build a life you don't constantly wish you were somewhere else for.
